Safe rollouts

Environments, deployments, change discipline, and monitoring so agent, prompt, resource, and MCP updates ship safely.

Agents are systems: they combine models, instructions, knowledge, and tools. MASAIC gives you primitives — environments, the deployments board, scoped MCP, versioned prompts, the Agent Playground, test suites, and conversation review — so changes are deliberate and reversible.

Use environments deliberately

  • Staging (or equivalent) is for experiments, regression tests, and stakeholder review.
  • Production is for end users and automation that touches real data.

Never “just try” a new MCP server or prompt variant in production without a conscious decision. Configure boundaries under Platform & release → Environments (testing and release).

Promote on the deployments board

Platform & release → Deployments shows which agent versions (and related artifacts) are live per environment. Promotion should follow validation — not ad-hoc toggles in the agent editor alone.

Change checklist

  • [ ] Change tested in the playground on the target environment.
  • [ ] Test suites green in staging (testing and release).
  • [ ] Prompts and resources named so the team knows which variant is live (Prompts & resources).
  • [ ] MCP tools limited to what that agent needs (MCP).
  • [ ] High-risk flows reviewed in conversation review when applicable.
  • [ ] Automation tasks and workflows reviewed if they share the same agent (Automation).
  • [ ] Owners documented for prompts, resources, and integrations.

Monitoring and ownership

  • Treat bad tool outcomes like production incidents: reproduce in staging, fix, redeploy.
  • Review automation and workflow failures on the same cadence as deployment health.
  • Use Quality → Conversations and Annotations for ongoing quality programs.
  • Keep subject-matter owners for resources so facts stay current.

Platform deployment (for infra teams)

MASAIC itself runs on AWS ECS inside enterprise Landing Zones, deployed with infrastructure as code (SST and Pulumi). If you operate the hosting layer, see the AWS deployment blog post and engineering docs.
