Mock users
Repeatable test identities your agent fetches personal data for, so tools return stable, predictable results.
A mock user is a stand-in identity your agent looks up during a test — a fixed user ID so tools that fetch personal data (accounts, orders, tickets) return the same result on every run.
Create a mock user
- In the sidebar, open Testing → Mock Users.
- Click New.
- Enter a Name for the identity and set its Workspace visibility — Team (shared) or Personal (only you).
- Optionally set Link to member (auth user id) — a UUID that powers "Test as Me" runs against your own account.
- Enter the User ID your bot should use when it fetches this user's data.
- Add an optional Description, then click Create.
Use a mock user in a test
- Open Testing → Tests and create or edit a test case.
- Select one or more mock users so tool calls resolve against those identities.
- Run the test — because the underlying data is stable, results stay comparable across runs and versions.
Tip: A persona shapes how the user talks; a mock user pins whose data the agent reads. Pair them to test the same personality against different account states.
